Media Reflection
My media product is challenges current media conventions due to its simplicity and not being complicated to look and as it is not too busy, my media product represents older students and parents because it isn't covered in a lot of different fonts and it is not over crowded. My product would be distributed through the internet via a digital version of my magazine using on line subscriptions, it could also be distributed by any shop that sells magazines and also could be manually distributed through subscriptions, this is because if they are distributed in areas where the school is based it will make sales. My target audience would be older sixth form or parents. I have learnt a a lot about production technology and how to make higher quality productions.

Initial thoughts and ideas
My initial thoughts and ideas on the project are that it seems like a nice starting point from which I can gage what parts of production I need to improve on most and how I can go about doing so, in the project I would like to have the ability to put our own twist on the magazine and what it is about, doing this would create its own set of problems but it would over all help us to improve our creative skills when it comes to designing and creating magazine covers. I would like my magazine to be aimed at the parents and 6th form because this would make it possible for me to make the magazine that bit more official and the aesthetic aspects of it would be simpler to get right, I think it would be a good idea to have subtle sections on the cover that are dedicated to the different types of people that will be reading it, it would be a bad idea however to make the cover have too many features possibly making it lose attraction and stop reading, I intend for the readers on my ‘magazine’ to be both male and female and of 6th form age and over.
Preliminary Task Brief
For the preliminary task I am expected to create a magazine cover and contents page for a new college or school magazine, in order to do this I will need to research and analyse magazines that currently exist and who the target audience is for these magazines so I can decide who my magazine will be aimed at. I will also need to carry out questionnaires, so I can make sure that I can address my target audience as accurately as possible and have the style of my magazine tailored to be interesting to the age of readers I intend to address, and take the necessary photographs for my magazine as it will need to contain a minimum of four original photographs. Once I have done this I will be putting together my draft cover and contents page after I have edited the photographs and other aspects of the magazine, after this I will get feedback and then re-edit my magazine after my final stage of editing I will be completing my cover and contents page.
